Silks Levels & Skill Requirements

Check out the requirements and skills that will be focused on in each level for SILKS. Make sure you are familiar with the terminology and skills required to be able to advance to the next level. Check with your instructor if you are ready to level up! MUST pass skills test to move on to next level.

YOUTH CLASSES ARE AGES 10-14

Beginner silks

•Pre-req: No experience required.

•Basic stand

Level 1/2 Silks

•Pre-req: Must be familiar and consistent with all intro to silks skills.

•Bent knee/bent arm invert in air

•Invert crotchet to double crossback to diaper series from ground and working towards freely in air.

•Introduced and working towards free bent arm/bent leg invert

•Crotchet climb

•Footlock climb

•Footlocks in the air

•Belays without invert

•Dance Wraps & Egg Beaters

•Scorpion series from dance wraps

•Hipkey in air

•Working towards Russian/scoop hipkey

•Thigh hitch from ground and working towards in air

•Crossback entries w/ invert

Level 2 silks

•Pre-req: Must be consistent with all intro and level 1 skills.

•Consistent bent arm/straight leg free invert in air

•Windmill hipkey

•Belays with invert

•36o aka fallen angel drop

•Back dive from diaper

•Hip key in air

•Secretary Series

•Sitting Pretty series

•Same side thigh wrap in air

•Opposite side climb

Level 3 & 4 Silks

Pre-req: Must be consistent in all intro, level 1, and level 2 skills.
